On May 19th the UMC St Radboud Nijmegen organizes a symposium ‘Met Zorg voor Kunst’ (With Care for Art). During this symposium various speakers will explain the unique collection from both medical and artistic perspectives. There will also be paid attention to the composition of the collection. Three photo's from the museum collection Sophia's Children are part of the art collection of the UMC St Radboud. The photo book Genderkinderen / portraits of cross gender Children was published in early January 2011. For this photo book, Sarah followed 11 children for seven years as they looked for their new identity. The journalist Ellen de Visser wrote the text. The foreword was written by Professor Dick F. Swaab, a doctor and professor of neurobiology. The book is obtainable in Dutch and English (Inside Out) from Uitgeverij d'Jonge Hond ISBN 978-90-89102-41-6 / NUR 740 / 653 The exhibition follows. At present, Sarah is working on the documentary Inside Out/ Portraits of Cross-gender Children in cooperation with the filmproducer Frank van den Engel (www.zeppers.nl) The film is a sequel to the photo book.
